New Milford, Connecticut. We were having dinner at a friend’s house and she had to water some plants for some people on her road who were out of town. She said to come along and bring my camera because they had a great flower garden and oh boy, did they ever. The place used to be Isaac Stern’s country house but had since passed to another family after his death. Thinking of his playing (I’ve seen him play) coupled with the thought of him sitting in this most excellent flower garden gave me goosebumps. I love the purple coneflower and will forever associate it’s soaring shape with his amazing music.
