Star moss with grass and more

Star moss with grass and more

Schaghticoke Ridge, Appalachian Trail, Bull’s Bridge, Connecticut.

Did a short hike to check on a section of the AT I maintain that had a recent fire on it (250 acres burned). It was mostly a leaf fire and burnt the understory but most of the trees were spared. And, now, a few summer months later, things are growing back.

This star moss was right on the edge of the fire and somehow survived.

    1. Thank you Gary. A few things make this image work (besides the lovely flora): the sensor and lens on the X100F are stellar, I held the camera up to my eye using the viewfinder which kept it steadier, and I used Lightroom to process it. No matter how much I dislike Adobe and how they spray their software onto a computer, Lightroom is, at this point, the best image processing tool I’ve got. Guess I’ll stick with it for the time being.

    1. It’s a great camera Martin although it’s not as much fun and easy to use as the Ricoh GR but it’s fine and dandy and I’ll be using it more and more no doubt as I get more familiar with it.
