  1. Amazing! I remember staying up all night watching it – I was 14 and the first foot on the moon was about 3 am (if I remember right – we were in the UK then). Anyway, I missed school the next day and when I went the day after I got into trouble with my History teacher because I had missed an important lesson…

    1. I remember watching it live too in Los Angeles with Walter Cronkite about to cry as he was so overwhelmed.

      I was 18 and wondering if I was going to graduate high school and go to college or be drafted and go to Vietnam (my lottery # was 22). I eventually made it to college but it was a very rough time for those of us who were against the war.
