This is an iPad app that covers a considerable amount of the work of photographer Richard Avedon.
I have many Richard Avedon books, some of them very large format but seeing his work backlit on a retina iPad screen is fantastic.
The app is free, if you have an iPad and you’re remotely interested in photography I highly recommend getting it.
The Richard Avedon app for iPad is a rich photographic experience that entices art and culture-minded individuals to explore Avedon’s work, to understand his process, and to differentiate between the object types in the Avedon archive.
Elegant and illuminating, the Richard Avedon app reveals the working process and catalogues the output of one of the most influential photographers of the twentieth century. Organized into the major areas of Avedon’s focus: Fashion, Portraiture, and Reportage, the app encourages the study and appreciation of his work through in-depth descriptions of his print types and archival material, a visual history of his exhibitions and hundreds of images displaying the arc of this extraordinary artist’s career.
