Smith Rock

Outpost

Flickr member Sebastian B-B posted this excellent picture of Smith Rock and the Crooked River in Eastern Oregon taken with a Ricoh GR.

From the mid 1970’s to the mid 1980’s I climbed there quite a bit. Great place although I preferred Yosemite’s granite to the volcanic “welded tuff” of Smith. At some point I’ll get some of the image of the old days there posted, my scanned slides are nowhere as nice as this magnificent landscape.

    1. I agree. The large sensor helped record detail here that smaller sensors would have missed. I also like the color although I’m not sure what the photographer did in post. It looks great to me, that little Ricoh is amazing in the right hands.
