Frozen bubbles in Schaghticoke brook

New York, Connecticut border south of Kent, Connecticut. Dave and I hiked from Bull’s Bridge north along the Appalachian Trail along Schaghticoke Ridge with this small stream as our destination.

This was a group of bubbles frozen into the ice in a way that made them look like concrete aggregate cut in cross section.

  1. Wow, I really love this photograph. I think making it black definitely added some depth to it that wouldn’t have been there besides. What a cool thing to capture too! That ice has to be pretty thin to be able to see the bubbles through it. :) Thanks for sharing this photo!
